Hi there, Jenny, and welcome to planDisney!
It’s great that you’re planning ahead. Using Rider Switch with a little one in tow is a game-changer, especially for those big-thrill attractions like
TRON Lightcycle / Run,
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind,
Avatar Flight of Passage, and
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
If you’re using
Lightning Lane Single Passes (LLSP) for any of those rides, then both adults who plan to ride (the first rider and the one swapping in after) will each need to purchase a Lightning Lane entry for that attraction.
Rider Switch lets you avoid waiting in line twice, but it doesn’t include Lightning Lane access unless you’ve purchased it.
That said, if you're planning to wait in the standby line instead of using a Lightning Lane pass, that works too! You can still use Rider Switch—just let the Cast Member at the entrance know what you'd like to do. One adult waits in line and rides first, whilst the other stays with your little one, then you switch. No extra purchases needed in that case!
Hope that clears things up! If you’ve got more questions as you plan your day, feel free to reach out. We’re always happy to help make your visit as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Have an amazing time and see ya real soon, Jenny!
Mike
