When using park tickets and Disney dining, do the park tickets start on the same day as the Disney dining? I may purchase a 14 day park hopped but may wish to stay 21 days. How would this work with DDP and park hopping?

    Hello, Rachel!

Your Disney Dining entitlements are good from the day of your check-in until midnight on the day of your check out.  As such, you may decide not to dine anywhere on the first day or two (or five!) of your trip, and you'll still have all of those entitlements to use at any time, in any configuration you wish, until midnight of the day you check out.

Similarly, the first day you decide to use your park ticket will begin the countdown on a fourteen day ticket. The Magic Your Way Base Ticket expires 14 days from its first use. You can, however, add the "No Expiration Option" which will allow you to use these days at any time in the future, either a few days later or even next year.

A good rule of thumb? Remember that your Dining Plan is connected to your resort reservation check-in and check out, while your Magic Your Way ticket is connected to the date on which you first USE it.

The only other thing to keep in mind is that you'll need entrance to a park in order to access any reservation at a restaurant that's within a park. However, should you wish to use your Dining Plan Table-Service entitlements at a resort restaurant or one of the fantastic restaurants at Downtown Disney, you can do so on a day when you do not plan on using a park ticket.

I hope this helps! Please send any additional questions as you plan your vacation to Walt Disney World! We love to help!
