Hi Julian! Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you sailed to us with your question as you prepare for your Disney Cruise. Just a few short weeks and you will be sailing away!
Your sailing this October looks to be a round-trip sailing (beginning and ending in the same port) to The Bahamas. That means that your birth certificate issued from the New York City Department of Health AND a government-issued photo ID are listed as
acceptable citizenship documentation to board your cruise. I did a little digging and it appears that New York City issues birth certificates separately from the rest of New York state. I checked with Disney Cruise Line and found that a birth certificate is acceptable if issued by the state, city, or county. Please keep in mind that the guidelines are based on government regulations, which are subject to change at any time.
I like to remind guests to keep their important travel documentation in a carry-on bag and not in their luggage to be checked. You will need to have it in hand to present upon check-in at the port. I also love to toss swimsuits, sunscreen, and coverups in our carry-on bag. My family likes to grab lunch shortly after boarding and then start our vacation off with a splash poolside.
Your sailing is a special
Halloween on the High Seas voyage, and these Halloween-themed sailings are my very favorite. Keep an eye out for spooktacular decor, Disney Characters in costume, and some frightfully fun entertainment offered onboard. If you'd like to listen to
episode three of the planDisney podcast, you can hear me chatting with some of my panelist pals about what to expect on these sailings. I hope it helps your excitement build!
Have a Disney Cruise full of all treats and no tricks!
