Welcome to planDisney, Dolores!
On behalf of my fellow panelists, I’d like to thank you for your service to our country. Mine’s also a military family, and we are so thankful for the fantastic military discounts available at the Walt Disney World Resort. We’ve made so many fantastic memories together in The Most Magical Place on Earth, and those photos and memories mean so much to all of us when my husband is away from home.
The
military discount on select Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms is a “room only discount,” meaning that it does not include tickets (which would make it a vacation package). In order to reserve a room under this discount, you’ll need to call and speak to a Cast Member at (407) 939-7830. They can check pricing and availability for your visit dates. At the time of your call, I encourage you to ask if you could add regular-priced theme park tickets to this room reservation; while I don’t think you’ll be able to do so, it’s always a good idea to double-check. Please remember to check the Offer Details on this promotion to ensure you’re eligible, and bring your military ID to verify eligibility should you be asked.
At the time of booking, you could also price the military promotion against other
available vacation package promotions – the Cast Member you speak with can help with that. While I think the military discount is fantastic, I’ve had a few occasions where Disney’s current special offers provide an even deeper discount. It’s always a good idea to check!
Dolores, did you know that active and retired service members are able to purchase up to 6
military promotional theme park tickets per family? Pricing and eligibility for these tickets can be found on the promotion’s web page; my family usually reserves a military discounted room and then purchases our tickets on base.
I also want to add that I have booked military-discounted rooms in the past and had friends and family who were not military stay with us in those rooms. In those cases, we had no trouble having them purchase their non-discounted
tickets separately as tickets only, just as we did with our military tickets. When you
link the room reservation in your
My Disney Experience account, you'll also be able to add those ticket numbers so you're able to make
Disney Park Pass reservations.
I hope this helps as you sort out your options for tickets and accommodations at the Walt Disney World Resort. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us – it’s always a pleasure to help another military family with their Disney dreaming.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
