Hello! Using MagicBands for the first time on our trip next week. I've read that you can attach a pin # to your band for making purchases. Do I need to set that up online prior to arrival? Or will that be done with a CM once we arrive? Thanks!

    Hi Wendy,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! The new MagicBand technology makes it very convenient to charge your purchases to your resort. You simply tap or scan the band at the point of purchase and enter your PIN, similar to the way Key to the World cards have been used in the past, except the Keys to the World cards did no have a PIN.

You can set a PIN for each member of your party when you do your online check-in through My Disney Experience. Or, if you prefer, you can set the PIN at the desk when you pick up your welcome info at check-in.

Either way, I've found it to work fast and easy. My family has used MagicBands on two trips now, and we've had no problems. We liked the convenience of having our tickets, charging privileges, FastPasses and other reservations all in one easily accessible place.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you as you finalize your plans. Enjoy!
