I will be using the Magical Express to and from the airport. I was reading that upon check out the bags will be handled by Disney. How exactly does that work?

    Hi Doris!

Thanks for your question. Of the numerous ways Disney likes to take care of their guests, use of the Disney's Magical Express is one of the amenities at the top of the list for me! :-) Disney's Magical Express makes life so much easier to know that you (and your luggage) will be taken care of both on your arrival and departure dates of your Disney vacation!

So on the night before your departure date from Disney, you'll receive a Disney Magical Express Transportation Notice. This notice will alert you as to to the time the motorcoach plans to depart the resort hotel and head towards Orlando International Airport (generally this is 2-3 hours before your flight take-off time).

In terms of your luggage, you can either bring your luggage with you on the motorcoach, or check-in your luggage at the Resort Airline Check-In kiosk area at the resort you're staying. If you use the Resort Airline Check-In at your resort, you won't have to worry about your luggage until you reach your flight's final destination. This is nice because it takes away the added work of having to check in your luggage at the resort, then again when you get to the airport. Now, if your luggage is smaller (a check in or personal item you plan to carry on your flight), we typically just carry those on the motorcoach with us.

I should note that if you do choose to use Disney's Resort Airline Check-In service, be sure to allow yourself enough time to check in at the kiosk (typically near the entrance of the resort) before the motorcoach arrives. As the motorcoach is on a time schedule, they can't wait if you're checking in your luggage while they're about to leave your resort, so please bear this in mind.

Often what our family does is take our checked-in luggage early to the Resort Check-In line, then come up to our resort room and finish packing (or relaxing) until the approximate time of the motorcoach arrival.

Hope this helps. Have a magical time at Disney World!
