Using the Magical Express from airport to the Pop Century. If I opt to retrieve our bags from baggage claim myself, what do I do with them after that? What are the pros and cons of having the DME handle my bags versus handling them myself.

Ann, if you retrieve your bags from baggage claim and take the Magical Express, you will carry them to the bus and store them underneath the coach.  You'll see lots of people storing stuff there because strollers aren't allowed on the bus and also have to be stored.

When you arrive at your resort, the driver will open the storage section and you can retrieve your bags and carry them to the resort check-in.

The pros to having the Disney Magical Express handle your bags is that you won't have to wait for them at the airport -- you can just head right to the bus.  In addition, you will significantly lighten your load (if you have children, this is obviously a huge pro).  The bags will be delivered to your room several hours after you arrive.

The only con is that you do have to wait for your bags, as they won't be delivered to your room for a few hours.  I usually pack essential items, such as a change of clothes and toiletries in my carry-on so that I can start enjoying my vacation the minute I arrive.  You do not have to be in your room for the bags to be delivered, so you can head right to a park or the pool.

    Have fun!
