When using a Lightening Lane pass are you just required to scan a wristband? Or is there other identifying infromation. For example, if we bought it for all 5 adults and 1 kid, could the kid use one of the other adults wristband to ride twice?

Hello there, Cameron! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for bringing us your question. I love that you're already thinking about the details of how Lightning Lane works. It's such a helpful tool for making the most out of your time in the parks!

To give you a straightforward answer, Lightning Lane access is tied directly to each Guest's valid admission and park reservation, which means in an ideal world, every Guest scans their own MagicBand+, ticket card, or MagicMobile pass when redeeming a Lightning Lane entry. That being said, in practice, things can sometimes look a little different.

When you arrive at the Lightning Lane entrance, you'll scan your band or card at the touchpoint. If the entitlement for that attraction is assigned to the account linked to that band, it will glow green and you'll be good to go. Cast Members technically don't mind who the band belongs to as long as the touchpoint turns green, so you shouldn't have an issue. I will be honest with you. I have seen instances where Guests have been able to use someone else's entitlement, and I've also seen Cast Members hold firm and say no. So you can certainly try, with the understanding that the answer may vary depending on the Cast Member you encounter.

If your goal is to let one child ride twice by using an adult's Lightning Lane, it's not a guaranteed yes, but it's not an automatic no either. The best approach is to kindly ask and see what the Cast Member says at the entrance. Most of them are incredibly understanding and do their best to keep the magic alive, but they also have rules to follow and circumstances that change from day to day.

Cameron, I hope this clears things up for you and helps you plan with confidence. If you'd like some ideas for how to make the most of Lightning Lane selections for your group so that no one feels left out, I'd be happy to share a few tips.

    Warm hugs,
