Hi there Ebony, Welcome back to planDisney! Thank you for stopping by with your excellent question. I'm thrilled to assist you! How exciting that you're planning a trip to
Walt Disney World Resort! You are sure to make awesome memories at The Most Magical Place on Earth!
Currently, only credit and debit cards can be stored for purchases on your My Disney Experience app. You can still use your Disney Gift Cards to make purchases using the app, such as Disney Genie+ (for theme park visits beginning July 24, 2024,
Lightning Lane Multi Pass will replace Disney Genie+ service, and Lightning Lane Single Pass will replace individual Lightning Lane entry), Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering. When making app-based purchases, after you've made your selections and reached the Order Summary screen, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap "Use a Different Payment Method." Under "Disney Gift Card or Disney Rewards Redemption Card," tap "Add a Card" and then select "Disney Gift Card." Then, you can either scan the barcode of the card or enter the card number to pay using your Disney Gift Card.
For physical cards, I would suggest putting the number into the note app on your phone so you can paste it into the My Disney Experience app for app-based purchases. The app won’t let you store gift cards as a payment option, so I find this makes it easier.
Ebony, I hope you find this information helpful. Thank you again for visiting planDisney. Have a magical day!
Kay
