Kelly from MD Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

If using Genie plus, if I have a 4:00 ride booked for example, and I booked it at 11:00, then I can make my next one at 1:00. If the one I make at 1 is for 3:30, can I make another one at 3 (2 hrs. later) or will I have to wait til I tape into the 3:30?

    Howdy, Kelly.

Welcome back to planDisney! I see your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation is only a few weeks away now. Hooray! You must be counting down the seconds in anticipation of your departure, and who can blame you? With the excitement of the 50th Anniversary Celebration and the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, there's so much to look forward to on your trip!

I'm excited to hear you are interested in trying out Disney Genie+ service. I've had the opportunity to utilize it several times since its launch and truly feel like it allowed me to maximize my time in the theme parks. As with any change though, learning the ins-and-outs of a new system can be a bit of a learning curve at first. Let's see if I can help clear things up for you.

Starting at 7:00 a.m., Guests can make their first Genie+ Lightning Lane selection from the Tip Board in their My Disney Experience App. I strongly encourage you to be ready to go at 7:00 a.m. on the dot since some selections sell out quickly. You will be able to make your next Genie+ Lightning Lane selection two hours after the official park opening time that day or after redeeming your initial Genie+ Lightning Lane selection, whichever comes first. You can continue to book Genie+ Lightning Lane selections every two hours or after redeeming your selections.

In your example scenario, you should be able to book another Genie+ Lightning Lane selection at 3:00 p.m. even though you haven't yet redeemed the 3:30 p.m. selection you booked earlier in the day. This is because you would have been following the two hour rule.

In my personal experience with Genie+, I have been successful in doing something very similar to what you are describing. I had already reserved a 4:00 p.m. Lightning Lane for Slinky Dog Dash that morning at 7:00 a.m. When my two hour window to book my next selection rolled around at 11:00 a.m., I was still able to book another Genie+ Lightning Lane selection.  Then, at 1:00 p.m., I was able to book another. At 3:30 p.m., I was also able to book another selection.

I know this sounds like a lot to manage, but the good news is you don't have to try and remember when you are eligible to book your next Genie+ Lightning Lane. All you have to do is check your Tip Board in your My Disney Experience App. If you click on a selection but it's too early to book it, there should be a message telling you the exact time you are able to come back and book your next selection. However, you may want to also set a two hour timer on your smart device to remind yourself to look. Doing this will allow you to get the most use from Genie+ that day.

Kelly, I hope this provided some clarity for you, and I hope you enjoy Disney Genie+ service as much as I have. May your upcoming magical adventure be everything you're dreaming of and more.

Wishing you all the pixie dust,
    Alyssa
