    Hi, I am using my DVC membership for the first time this aug. I would like to know if there is any grocery shopping near Animal Kingdom Kidani Village, so I dont have to pack a lot for the ride from New York.

    Hi Matthew! Congratulations on your first upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort as a new Disney Vacation Club Member.

    With a big family of eaters, I do a lot of cooking in our Disney Vacation Club villa.  I love being able to stretch our vacation dollars by bringing our own groceries. Having a fully equipped kitchen is the best home away from home luxury...it's priceless! Your kitchen comes fully equipped with cookware, a complete table setting, flatware, small bottle of dish detergent and sponge, paper towels, dishcloths...all the "hardware" but you'll need to bring your own groceries, spices, condiments and extras to make your meals perfect.

    We live in Georgia so we're able to drive to Walt Disney World Resort in about 6 hours with groceries packed from home. I pick up frozen or other perishable food items at the local grocery stores near Walt Disney World Resort right before we arrive. Publix is a popular grocery chain in the South and the one I'm most familiar with so I tend to shop there, but there are several others in the vicinity to choose from.

    Another option is use a grocery delivery service like Garden Grocer www.GardenGrocer.com or 1-866-855-4350. They offer a wide assortment of groceries that can be delivered right to your Walt Disney World Resort. There's a $40 order minimum and $14 delivery charge for orders under $200.
