When using a credit card to making dining reservations is there a hold on my credit card and how much would that hold be? I have been told that some restaurants put a hold while others just keep the card on file in case we are a no show.

    Bonjour Diana,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!

I’ve made several Disney dining reservations throughout my visits to Walt Disney World Resort and the only time that I’ve ever had a “hold” placed on my credit card was for dining experiences that require prepayment at the time of booking. In my experience, the card number is kept on file only in order to guarantee your reservation in case you don’t show up for your reservation or try to cancel it less than 24 hours beforehand.

If the dining experience that you’ve selected requires prepayment (which is usually the case for dining eventsdinner shows or dessert events), then that will be made clear at the time of booking.

I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming vacation. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
