We will be using a compliant stroller for my Grandaughter when visiting Disneyland . What are ways to make it stand out when it is parked with so many other strollers? I wanted to attach a small Ariel mermaid flag, would this be allowed? Thanks!

    Hi there, Maureen!

You are just a few days away from your time in the magic, can you already start to feel the pixie dust swirling? It sounds like you are planning a very special multi-generational visit! You are going to love making those unforgettable memories with your granddaughter!

I love to see that you are planning ahead! One of our best tips here at planDisney is to find a way to easily identify your stroller. Heading to the Happiest Place on Earth in the summer can bring quite a few Guests to the park, and strollers along with them! As long as your item does not fall into the prohibited items list within the park rules, you should be all set. I would think an Ariel flag would be fine and is a great idea! No matter what, you will want something eye-catching as you glance out over the sea of strollers. Some Guests purchase a Mickey balloon on Main Street as an identifier; this helps as it is elevated above the handlebars and easy to spot. You can also keep it very simple—I have personally tied a bright, neon colored ribbon to our handlebars. My recommendation is that it is something that is either very bright or something that sits elevated from the handlebars. Everyone will have Disney gear in tow, so just make sure your flag stands out.

It is such an exciting time to be in the parks to Celebrate Happy as part of the 70th Anniversary festivities! I highly recommend picking up one of the new Family Adventure Maps released just last month - there's one for both Disneyland and California Adventure! Your granddaughter will love the seek-and-find activity during downtime or when you are waiting in a queue, and you will love all the resources. There are two things I love about these maps. One is the detailed breakdown of attractions well suited for pre-schoolers, including a short description and a guide that lets you know if it moves fast, has drops, is dark or scary, if it spins, etc., so you know what you are walking into ahead of time and can prepare your Mouseketeer. The second feature of the map I love is the guide to Kid-Favorite Foods. Yes, you can find locations offering mac & cheese and chicken tenders at a glance! There is also a Disney Check identifier to indicate where you can find healthy food and beverage options.

Maureen, I sure hope we've set you up for a successful day in the parks! I highly recommend taking a peek at the Entertainment Schedule for your park day ahead of time to map out any must-see shows and nighttime entertainment. The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade is a fun one, making its way down Main Street twice daily, subject to change. It's a quick burst of joy where you can see some of your favorite characters. Give Mickey a wave for me!

    Magic awaits!
