Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Jane. We're so happy you stopped by, and even happier to hear you're thinking about planning a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation! It's my very favorite kind.
I think you're referring to the
Disney Vacation Account that was introduced in 2015. This handy tool helped Guests plan and save for magical Disney vacations. Unfortunately, this program was discontinued. Not to fret! I have some great tips on ways you can save for the Walt Disney World Resort vacation you're beginning to plan.
When you book a
Walt Disney World vacation package, you need only place a $200 deposit with the balance due just 30-days prior to arrival. In the time between booking and arrival, you are most welcome to make payments towards the reservation balance in any amount, at any time. This allows you to save for your dream vacation a little at a time! Isn't that convenient?
To know how much to save for your Walt Disney World vacation package, I suggest first exploring
Disney Resort hotels. Once you've added one Disney Resort hotel stay to your online cart, you can add Theme Park Tickets, creating a customized vacation package. With one vacation package added to your online cart, you'll have the option to add up to two others so that you can compare your offers side-by-side. This comparison tool helps my family select the vacation package that suits our unique needs, interests, and budget! When you've found the vacation package that's a perfect fit for your party, I suggest booking right away. Again, you only need to pay a deposit at the time of booking! Prices are subject to change over time, so I suggest booking the vacation package you're interested in as soon as possible rather than waiting to book it later.
Did you know you can pay your reservation balance with
Disney Gift Cards? This is a great way to save some money on the total of your vacation package. If you're a Target RedCard holder, you can save 5% off the price of a Disney Gift Card. Membership stores like Sam's Club and Costco often offer significant savings on Disney Gift Cards too.
It looks like you're planning for a
holiday visit. While discounts haven't been released for the fall and winter months quite yet, I suggest keeping an eye on the
Special Offers, Deals, and Discounts page on the Walt Disney World Resort website. If an offer is released that applies to your travel dates, you may be able to apply the discount to your existing reservation! Simply call the
Reservation Team and they'll be happy to assist you.
I hope this was helpful, Cindy. Please let us know if you have any other questions about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. We'd love to help you plan a magical stay!
