    Used magic bands November 2016. Will they be good March 2018 or should I get new ones?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thank you so much for sending us your question. We are here to help with all the magical details. 

    Your 2016 MagicBands can still be used for your upcoming vacation to Walt Disney World® Resort as long as they are showing as "active" in your My Disney Experience Account. The battery life in the RFID chip of the band has a life-expectancy of approximately two years. 

    However, I would encourage you to order new MagicBands as the all-new MagicBand 2 has just been launched and are the bands now being sent to all guests. These new bands have the option of removing the middle "Mickey head" piece and interchanging them with other bands, or being placed in the clip holders called MagicKeepers, so you don't have to wear it on your wrist.  Customizing new bands could add a little extra magic for your family. I like to surprise mine by using a nickname on their bands.
