    Have any of you used the in-room child care? We have a 12y/o a, 3, & 2yo. We wanted to take our son to a nice restaurant. The girls don't like having to be still and quiet. We tried Jiko last year with them and it was a nightmare. Nervous about child c

    Hi Shelley!  Yes, my family has used the Kids Nite Out child care service many, many times while vacationing at Walt Disney World.  The latest time was this past December with my 1 1/2 year old grandson.  Each time has been wonderful and on a personal level can recommend this to other guests.

    As I stated we have used Kids Nite Out which Disney resorts will also recommend. They can be reached at 1-800-696-8105 or 407-828-0920.  There is a four hour minimum which honestly doesn't take much to reach since you always need to build travel time into your evening.  Talk with the representative and explain your needs, your children's ages, interests, personalities etc.  They will try to match their sitters as best they can. If you prefer someone older then request that or just let them make the call themselves. 

    The sitter will show up with a bag full of activities to do while they are with the children. You can set the rules about TV, food etc.  We usually allow the sitter to order room service for themselves and the children as that is the easiest way for them to dine.  We also ask the front desk for a dummy room key that won't allow charges so we can give that to the sitter.  In the past they have enjoyed strolling the kids through-out the resort as something to keep the kids busy and happy.  They will not be allowed to take them swimming or to give them baths due to safety concerns.  Most will have a cell phone with them but we always give them our numbers so they can check in with us during the evening if necessary.
