I have never used Fastpass on the app before so wondering how it works for families? There are 3 adults and 2 children travelling with me. Do I just do the fastpass once on my app? Or do we all have to do it? And the kids? Grateful for any explanation!

Hey howdy hey, Leah, and a warm welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You’ve got a friend in me, and I’d be more than happy to explain Disney FASTPASS Service!

So, let’s start with the difference between Disney FASTPASS and Disney MaxPass. Disney MaxPass is my all-time favorite way to maximize your Disney days. MaxPass allows you to make digital FASTPASS selections from the convenience of your mobile device, as soon as you enter Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. MaxPass can be added to your tickets on a daily basis, using the Disneyland app. So, if everyone in your group wants the benefit of MaxPass, they will need to add it to their own individual ticket, including any children age 3 or over. Of course, that doesn't mean children have to have their own phone in order to use MaxPass -- typically, each family designates one person to link the family's tickets and make FASTPASS selections.

Adding MaxPass to your ticket is a simple process: Start by downloading the Disneyland app, then, once you've entered Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park, select the “+” at the bottom of the screen, then choose “Get FASTPASS with Disney MaxPass.” Once your transaction is complete, you can make your first FASTPASS selection!

Once all the tickets in your group have MaxPass on them, you can go ahead and link them together. So, multiple phones in the group can have the group's tickets linked on them. This way, if you split up at any point, or a phone battery dies, you're still able to access MaxPass.

MaxPass also includes another great perk – unlimited digital downloads of your Disney PhotoPass pictures! This is a great way to preserve all your magical vacation memories. Even if your whole group doesn’t add MaxPass to their tickets, I recommend at least one member adds it just for this benefit alone. From attraction photos to Magic Shots to dining photos, you’ll love all the ways the Disneyland Resort captures the magic!

If your group decides not to add MaxPass to each member’s ticket, you can still make complimentary FASTPASS selections on select attractions by walking up to each FASTPASS distribution point.

Please stop by with any additional questions, Leah, I’m all EARs!
