5 of us will be at WDW the week after Labor Day and have made our character meal ADRs already. We would like to dine at other sit down restaurants, but want to be spontaneous about it. Do we have to have ADRs for every sit down meal or can we "wing it

Hi Michelle.   Sure you can choose to "wing it" but here are some suggestions.   Its good to hear that you already made your character meal reservations and I would suggest that for any "must dine at" restaurants you would like to visit that you also schedule these.    Working in your favor is that since you visiting the week after Labor Day, crowds should be a bit smaller offering more options to just walk-up for dining reservations.   Also, as you enter the parks, check with the Disney location setup to take dining reservations in case you have any last minute needs.    You may find openings and cancelations that will allow you to confirm a reservation time that day.

This follows the typical practice my family and I follow.   It has proven to provide us the flexibility to be spontaneous, better determine when we are really ready to eat, and hit the rides and attractions as we prefer.   But again, think of any other restaurants you really want to dine at to avoid being shut out.   Enjoy!
