Anchors aweigh! Hello, Dea and thanks for bringing your question to us here at planDisney.
Dea, I'm so excited to see that you're planning a Disney Cruise Line vacation. From the food to the entertainment and of course, the extra pixie dust of sailing with Captain Mickey, I know you'll love your voyage!
Now, Dea, in order to successfully board, it's important to know what documentation is required, so I'm glad to chat with you today about passports. First, it's important to know that the answer is dependent on your citizenship status
and your specific sailing.
For example, my family and I are hoping to hop aboard the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet,
the Disney Wish next year. Currently, those sailings leave Port Canaveral, travel to the
Bahamas, and then return to Port Canaveral. Because all the members of my immediate travel party are U.S. citizens we are permitted to use the following in lieu of a passport:
- Original or copy of state-issued birth certificate AND Government-issued photo IDDea, please take a close look at
THIS PAGE showing all travel documentation requirements and options per destination so you can find information for your specific sailing.
Whether you'll be finding your inner voyager like Moana on the
Disney Magic,
Disney Wonder,
Disney Dream,
Disney Fantasy or
Disney Wish, I hope you have an unforgettable vacation. If you have any additional questions, just grab your oars and row on back to planDisney!
