There are 8 of us in our group. We will possibly split up during the day, does everyone need to have the app and their tickets on their own phone???

Hey there, Liz. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with another question!

The good news is you can have multiple Guests link all the tickets for your party within their instance of the Disneyland mobile app. Not everyone MUST have their own tickets on their phone, but I find it’s helpful in a party of eight to have at least a couple of you with all the tickets linked in case you want to split up and explore separately, as you mentioned.

Guests can link one another’s tickets phone-to-phone. Let’s say you have all the tickets linked in your account. You can open the app, go to Tickets and Passes, and you should see all the tickets with barcodes. Other Guests can open their app, go to Tickets and Passes, click the “+” in the upper right corner and link the tickets one at a time from your phone by scanning them from their phones.

But, if not everyone wants to use the app, no worries. When you arrive at the parks, the first time you scan in, you will receive individual paper tickets too, which can be handed to each Guest.

I find it’s nice to have a few people in the party have all the tickets linked, to take turns reserving Lightning Lanes for the entire party using Disney Genie+, for instance.

I hope this is helpful, Liz. Have a magical vacation and come back to see us if you have any more questions.

    Bye for now,
