There are 3 of us going on Disney dream in September we have been told you don’t spend money on board ship you charge it to a card, can we do a bank card each person or is it 1 per room?

Hello, Tracy! Welcome to the planning party here at planDisney! I'm happy to help as you prepare to step aboard the beautiful Disney Dream for an amazing holiday.

I'm pleased to report that each member of your travel party in your stateroom will be able to set up their onboard accounts and payment options associated with their own purchases. I recently set sail with two friends and we shared a stateroom but paid for our own expenses with our credit cards associated with our Key to the World Cards. You will have an opportunity to set up your payment details when you check in online for your cruise. First-time Disney Cruise Line guests may begin the online check-in process 30 days before their cruise will set sail. If you would prefer to settle your onboard purchases with Disney Gift Cards or U.S. Dollars, you may do so by visiting the Crew Members at the Guest Services desk.

When you would like to make a purchase onboard, be sure to use your own Key to the World Card (this is also your stateroom key and the card you present when you disembark and embark again on the ship when visiting ports of call) and the purchase will be added to your onboard account. If you set up a debit or credit card, your onboard account will be settled at the end of your cruise automatically. It's quite simple! You can keep tabs on what you have charged to your account via the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. It's a good idea to take a screenshot of your onboard account details on the last night of your cruise if you'd like to reference your account in the future. I like to do this for budget planning purposes for future sailings.

Speaking of future sailings, if you know you would like to sail again with Captain Minnie and Captain Mickey, you can take advantage of reserving a placeholder booking while onboard through the Navigator app. If you use your placeholder to sail within the next 24 months, you will enjoy a discount on most stateroom categories. I always book a placeholder because I just love the chance to say "See ya real soon!" to Disney Cruise Line.

I hope we'll see you again soon if you have any further questions, Tracy. My pals and I are here to help in any way possible.

    Have a magical voyage,

    Adrianna
