There are 8 of us coming for a visit in July and we are trying to pick ONE water park to visit. All adults and older children. Can you recommend whether we should visit Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach? Does one have more rides geared for adults? T-you

    Susan:

Our family are passholders for the water parks, and our personal favorite is Blizzard Beach.  However, it usually wins out because it has more slides for the children, and both my youngest and I enjoy the kiddie section of BB more than Typhoon Lagoon.

But if you've got mostly adults, it comes down to whether you enjoy the many slides and water park-feel of Blizzard Beach or the large wave pool, snorkeling opportunity, and tropical feel of Typhoon Lagoon.  When it was just my husband and I on a visit last summer, we went to both in one day, and I was able to come away with a better feel of which park offered what.  When you compare the two, both have lazy rivers and equal amounts of options for adults but BB's family raft ride is longer and it offers a lot more slides over Typhoon Lagoon, albeit the slides are more targeted to age groups like 5 and under, pre-teen, and just plain dare-devil!

If you're into lots of slides, Blizzard Beach is a good choice.  If you're looking for a greater variety of "experiences" from a water coaster to wave pool to snorkling, Typhoon Lagoon offers more.  But with either choice, you won't be disappointed!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
