There are 7 of us coming to DW in Nov. We chose the stay, with the dining plan. One of the children in our party may not be able to come but won't know until Nov. Will I get the $ back on my credit card if that's the case? Don't want a vouture...

    Hi Janet!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

This is a great question.  Unfortunately, changes to a package reservation have to be made at least 45 days in advance to avoid any kind of penalty for making a change.  It sounds like you won't know until the "last minute" if the child will be coming or not.  Thus I suggest either not doing the Disney Dining Plan or getting the Dining Plan for everybody and then just using that child's dining credits.  All of the adult dining credits are pooled together and all of the children dining credits are pooled together.

In trying to make a decision on how to proceed, I recommend visiting the independent website AllEars.Net.  At All Ears, you can see the menu, including prices, for all of the Table Service and Quick Service locations at Walt Disney World.  Then knowing what restaurants you plan on visiting and what each member of your party might order, you can decide if being on a Disney Dining Plan is the best option.  I can tell you that some guests save a lot of money by being on a plan, some save only a little, and some actually spend more!

Good luck with your decision, and please write back with more questions!
