There are 10 of us coming to Disney World in August. There are 6 adults & 4 kids (9, 11, 12 & 14 years old). Does each person need a phone or something to show their tickets for entry, or can i do it for everyone, as i have everything on the app

    Hello Will,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you brought your question to us about your upcoming holiday to Walt Disney World Resort. In just a few weeks, you will be having a spectacular vacation!

When my extended family travels together, we let each person pick one thing we all do together, which usually allows us to find many new things that we enjoy. For instance, I would never have known how much fun For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at Disney's Hollywood Studios was if my young niece hadn’t picked that attraction as her “one thing” on our family holiday together. It was worth melting for, as Olaf would say!

It sounds like you are managing all the plans for your group and have all the tickets linked in your My Disney Experience, allowing you to scan each group member as you enter the parks. Of course, sometimes large groups need to split up and go at their own pace.

To make it easier for group members to split up if needed, I suggest that each member of the group create a My Disney Experience profile so that they will have their phone so they can have access to their tickets. Any Guest age 13 and older may create an account. Since you are currently managing each Guest’s plans, once they have created an account, be sure to invite that Guest to connect with you in Family & Friends. You will be able to connect using the email address each person uses to create their My Disney Experience account.

Since you are traveling with some younger travelers, you will create a profile for each child under 13 simply by entering the name and age in your Family & Friends section of My Disney Experience. Only create one profile per child. Creating multiple profiles for an individual may result in issues accessing travel plans and Lightning Lane entrances.

Now, in order for each person to enter the parks, they will need either a DisneyBand, Disney Magic Mobile on their mobile device or traditional ticket media which you can pick up at the ticket window at any of the theme parks. Note that you will need to be present to pick up the ticket media since you will be required to show photo identification in order to do so.

Will, I hope this information is helpful. If you have any other questions or need some tips for planning for a large group of Mousketeers at Walt Disney World Resort, don’t hesitate to write back!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
