    Upon entering Magic Kingdom, is it faster to ride the train to Fantasyland or should we walk? Sorry, but I could not tell how big the place is from the map.

    The train ride is about 13-minutes from the Main Street station to New Fantasyland, stopping in Frontierland first. You can count on anywhere from a 4- to 10-minute wait for the train along with loading time. You can compare this with a brisk 10- to 12-minute walk from the front gate back to Fantasyland and about 3-minutes to continue on to the train station at the back of New Fantasyland.

    Unless the train is arriving at the station, I don't see an advantage to waiting on the steam engine to take you to Fantasyland--and you'll find that most everyone else heads there on foot also. The only exception to this recommendation would be if someone in your party was aged or if you wanted to ride the train anyway.
