If we upload our documents for check in, is it still required to bring the physical copy of the birth certificate.

    Hi Justin,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for asking us a question about your upcoming voyage aboard Disney Cruise Line!

I love using Online Check-In for my cruises. Not only does it make boarding the ship so much easier once I get to the port, it also means that my cruise is only about a month away!

From what I understand, the answer to your question about travel documentation depends on the type of sailing you’ve chosen. If you’re planning to travel without a passport, then that means that you’re likely on a closed loop, or round trip cruise, which departs and returns to the same United States port. If so, I believe that all you need is a copy of your birth certificate, and not the original one itself. You’ll need that copy even if you’ve provided it as part of the Online Check-In process. That said, you’ll need your actual, original government-issued photo ID with you to board the ship, and not a copy.

I hope my answer helps you plan for a smooth boarding process for your upcoming vacation. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
