Is upgrading your ticket after purchase to a park hopper + still an option?

    Hello Becky,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. These next couple months are going to fly by, and soon you'll find yourself right in the middle of The World's Most Magical Celebration. You're going to love the iridescent magical details added throughout the parks, especially the Beacons of Magic each night. Spaceship Earth in EPCOT is my favorite, but the others are beautiful as well.

There is so much to see and do, it can sometimes be tricky to visit just one park per day. You can absolutely add the Park Hopper Option to your tickets at any point leading up to your vacation, or even when you arrive at the parks. Just be aware that you have to upgrade the entire length of your tickets, not just one day.

If you want to upgrade your tickets before your vacation, I find it easiest to do that using the My Disney Experience App on your mobile device. Click on the hamburger menu (3 horizontal lines) at the bottom of the screen. Next select Tickets and Passes and select your theme park ticket. Choose the Change Ticket option and you'll be able to upgrade your ticket.

Becky, make sure while you are planning your magical vacation that you make a theme park reservation for each day of your vacation. When it comes to park hopping you only need to reserve the park you plan to start at each day. After 2:00 PM, or whenever park hopping starts, you are free to go to any other park without a reservation. On rare occasions, a park may reach capacity and not allow park hopping, but if that is the case signs will be posted in transportation areas and you will receive an alert in your My Disney Experience App.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
