When upgrading a multi-day ticket to a magic key, does the whole cost of the ticket get credited in the purchase of the magic key or just the unused days? If I only use 2 days of a 3 day pass, do I get credit for all 3 days or just 1 when upgrading? Thank

Hello there, Aaron! Thanks for stopping by planDisney and asking your question!

When you upgrade a theme park ticket to a Magic Key, the entire amount that you paid for your ticket is applied to your Magic Key purchase even if you haven't used all the days on a multi-day ticket yet. However, I strongly urge you to wait until the last day you use your tickets to upgrade to a Magic Key. This is because when you upgrade, any remaining theme park reservations associated with the ticket you are upgrading will be cancelled and there may not be availability to make new ones with your new Magic Key or those dates could be blocked out depending on the pass type you select.

So I suggest you visit the parks as you normally would with the tickets and theme park reservations you already have in place. Then after you enter the parks on your last day, but before the parks close that day, upgrade your ticket to a Magic Key in the Disneyland app. Since you are a California resident, you will still be able to take advantage of the monthly payment plan when you upgrade, or you can pay in full. Keep in mind that your Magic Key activation/anniversary date will be retroactive to the first day that you used the ticket you upgraded.

I hope you have a fantastic time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
