I am going to be upgrading our Disneyland Premium passes to the Premier Passport for our fourth trip in August to WDW. Do the Premier passes work with the biometric scanners or will I need ID to enter the parks? Thanks.

    Hi Mary!

I have a Disney Premier Passport.  It's definitely the way to go if you will be visiting both Walt Disney World and Disneyland in the same year.  The passport does work with the biometric scanners at the turnstiles to each park.  So with regards to getting into a theme park, you won't need any additional identification.

However, I do recommend bringing a picture ID with you.  I was asked several times on my last trip for a picture ID when I tried to use the passport for a discount in various stores on property.  I do not believe the Cast Members at Walt Disney World can bring up your picture like it is done out at Disneyland.  In fact, I don't believe they even take your picture if you purchase your passport at Walt Disney World; I'm not sure, because I've always picked up my mine out in California.

With regards to discounts, my recommendation is to just ask whenever your purchase anything.  The biggest difference with regards to discounts between the two resorts is the passport doesn't give you the great discount on food and drinks as it does out in Disneyland.

Have a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
