    Can I upgrade my tickets ?

    Thanks for visiting us at planDisney. When it comes to expanding the magic of a visit to the Disneyland Resort, I’m there for it!

    In most cases, regular theme park tickets may be upgraded to another ticket of equal or greater value. Ticket upgrades may be done in person at the Disneyland Resort. You will need to visit a main entrance ticket booth. Here are some things to consider for a ticket upgrade:

    • I recommend having your original ticket purchase confirmation email handy, just in case.
    • In some upgrade situations, a government-issued photo ID may be required.
    • Currently, new Disneyland Resort Magic Key passes are not available for sale. So, unfortunately, upgrading to a Magic Key is not available until Magic Key sales resume. When Magic Key sales do resume, upgrades may be done within the Disneyland mobile app.
    • The new ticket type must be of equal or greater value than the original ticket.
    • In many cases, upgrading a theme park ticket will cancel the original ticket and a new ticket will be issued. Canceling the original ticket will result in canceling any theme park reservations linked to it. So it is important to check the theme park reservation availability calendar to make sure that you may book any new reservations that may need to be made after upgrading your tickets.
    • Complimentary tickets and special event tickets, such as for Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party, may not be upgraded.
    • In some cases, upgrades should be done prior to using the original ticket. For example, using a Park Hopper ticket and then upgrading to a 1-park-per-day ticket may not be permitted.
    • Tickets usually must be valid in order to upgrade. That is, the ticket expiration date has not passed and all of the days of the ticket haven’t been used prior to upgrading.
    • Expired tickets may be upgraded only if they are wholly unused.
