Hiya Sandy,
Welcome to planDisney; we are so happy that you are here! Can you believe that in a little more than a month, you will be on your trip to Walt Disney World Resort?! Between
EPCOT’s International Flower and Garden Festival and
the 50th Anniversary Celebration, there is so much happening at Walt Disney World in April, so I’m glad you are thinking of adding an extra day to your Theme Park tickets! I’m so excited for you, and I know you will have the most magical time at the most Magical Place on Earth.
Just a few things to remember before adding an additional day:
1. If you have already used your one-day Theme Park ticket, you cannot add a day.
2. The ticket must not be a special offer ticket.
Usually, my initial recommendation would be to reach out to a Cast Member at 407-934-7639 in order to get an extra day added to your ticket. Unfortunately, the wait times have been very long recently, so I researched some other ways you can add days to your theme park tickets before heading down that rabbit hole.
1. Try the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. Once you open the app, click on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right-hand corner. Next, click “Tickets and Passes” and select your current one-day ticket. If you can upgrade your ticket through the mobile app, you will see an option to change the ticket. Complete the on-screen steps, and just like magic, you will have changed your Theme Park ticket from a one-day to a two-day.
2. Visit
Guest Relations in person at either
Disney Springs or any of the four Theme Parks. You will have to wait in line more than likely, but the wait time will likely be shorter than waiting on hold. Also, if you choose to do this at Disney Springs, you can visit the
Marketplace Co-Op and
Gideons Bakehouse! I love stopping in Marketplace Co-Op to look at the Disney Home Collection, and I dream about the massive cookies at Gideon’s Bakehouse!
If you do decide to call a Cast Member at the Existing Ticket Center, I recommend calling either early or late in the day. That should help you decrease your wait time a little bit.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you plan your magical April trip to Walt Disney World!
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
