Welcome to planDisney, Marc! Thanks for stopping by with your
Disneyland Magic Key question. Your question is a great one, and I am happy to help.
If you choose to upgrade your current Magic Key, you will pay the difference in price between what you originally paid and the current price of the upgraded pass. The price of the upgraded pass will not be prorated based on how much time is left before the expiration date. Please note that if you have an existing monthly payment plan, that contract remains in place for the remainder of its terms. Additionally, the pass that you would like to upgrade to must be available for new sales. To upgrade your pass, visit one of the
Disneyland Resort Ticket Booths, making sure to have your photo ID and your current Magic Key Pass in the
Disneyland Mobile App.
Marc, if you only have a few months left before your current Magic Key expires, it may be more cost-effective to wait until your renewal window and upgrade for the next year of magic. Currently, Magic Key renewals can upgrade to a higher pass even if that pass is not available for new sales. This is subject to change but has been true for the last several years.
I hope you enjoy Seasons of the Force and
Pixar Fest during your next visit, Marc. My family loved visiting the Pixar Fest Festival Marketplaces this past weekend. I even discovered a new favorite snack - the Red Panda Bao from 4*TOWN FAV*4*ITES. Give it a try next time you're there!
I hope this information helps, Marc. Please
let me know if you have any other questions!
See you in the parks,
Melissa
