Hi Donald,
Welcome to planDisney!
Your arrival dates bring me joy! The dates you have selected should have you there to get a glimpse of
The Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort. If you have not yet done so, check out the
Holiday Archives with the Disney Parks Blog. While theoretically you may be able to upgrade or change resorts when you arrive, the ability to change would depend on availability and given that you are traveling at a busier time of year, I would not want to take the risk. Making a last-minute change also means that you could miss out on a good
Special Offer that might discount your stay.
Since you have some time, take a look at the existing Special Offers. My suggestion is to select a few
Disney Resorts Collection hotels that you prefer. Then do some comparison pricing. Of course, I understand that you may have a budget. My family certainly does! But, I have also learned to consider the value of certain aspects of the vacation that may be less quantifiable. The value of time, for instance, is important. So, we typically pick resort hotels that have multiple transportation options or that are within walking distance of a theme park. Resorts with access to
Walt Disney World® Monorail Transportation or the
Disney Skyliner in addition to
Walt Disney World® Bus Service are our favorites.
This access to multiple transportation options makes a difference after a long day in the parks. After leaving the
Happily Ever After fireworks show at Magic Kingdom, for example, we truly enjoy walking back to our resort hotel if we are staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort or Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. We also absolutely adore the Disney Skyliner. The rides are relaxing and fairly quick!
Donald, keep up the terrific research, discuss with any family or friends that are traveling with you, and make a final decision. Each Disney resort has wonderful theming and amenities. Just take a few minutes to review those amenities to see which ones might be best suited for you!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
