I’m so excited you’re looking to upgrade a pass for the
Disneyland Resort! Now, there are several types of passes, and so I don’t miss out on which pass you mean, I’ll happily explain how to upgrade several pass types!
If you wish to upgrade a
theme park ticket pass to a higher tier, then you can do so over the phone! I recommend you speak with a friendly Cast Member on the
Tickets line for assistance. Be sure to have the payment method updated in your Disney account, as you will have to pay the difference over the phone! Then all that’s left is to make a
park reservation for whichever day you wish to visit!
Upgrading a theme park ticket to a
Magic Key pass is easier than trying to pronounce “
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”! You can upgrade your ticket through the Disneyland app! Open the
Disneyland app, click the (≡) on the right-hand side of the screen, and click "Tickets and Passes". One-day tickets must be upgraded by midnight on the day of your visit to the Disneyland Resort, and multi-day tickets must be upgraded by midnight on or before the last valid day of your ticket. Magic Keys are subject to availability, and if you wish for more information before upgrading, you can speak with a Cast Member on the
Magic Key Holders line for assistance!
Finally, if you wish to upgrade a Magic Key pass to a higher level pass, you must present at the ticket booths at the Disneyland Resort Esplanade. These Cast Members can assist with upgrading your pass and answer any further questions you may have. Since Magic Key passes are subject to availability, I went ahead and waved my magic wand to verify that (as of today!) the Inspire, Believe, and Enchant Magic Key passes are available to upgrade to. According to the
Magic Key Buying Guide, existing Magic Key passes cannot be upgraded over the phone or through the Disneyland app, only in person at the ticket booths in the Esplanade.
