Hi Lauren,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for sending us your question. Upgrading to an
Annual Pass is a great idea, that means you will experience a full year of Disney magic at Walt Disney World Resort.
Guests are able to upgrade existing Theme Park Tickets provided there is still at least one day admission left on the ticket, and if it hasn’t been longer than 14 days since first activiated. In order to upgrade your Theme Park Tickets you will need to visit a Guest Relations location at any of the four Theme Parks or at Disney Springs, and you will be responsible to pay the difference in cost from your original Theme Park Ticket to the cost of your Annual Pass.
I would recommend upgrading your Theme Park Tickets as soon as possible during your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, since once you become an Annual Passholder there are several discounts that you will be able to benefit from, such as merchandise and dining discounts. Also, your Annual Pass will be activated on the first day you enter a Theme Park with your existing Theme Park Tickets so there really isn’t a benefit to waiting to upgrade to an Annual Pass later on during your visit.
I hope you have a magical time at Walt Disney World Resort, Lauren. Please let us know if you have any other questions, we are always happy to help.
Stephanie
