Hiya Victoria!
Welcome to planDisney, the most magical place on the internet! As a fellow Annual Passholder, I am so glad that you stopped by to ask us this magical question.
Disney Annual Passes are so magical, and there is no better time to become an Annual Passholder than during the Walt Disney World Resort's 50th anniversary!
Now, Victoria, I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that
you can upgrade your theme park tickets to a Disney Annual Pass. In fact, that is how I got my own Annual Pass! You would only have to pay the price difference between your theme park tickets and the Annual Pass you are buying. This can only be done by a Cast Member, so you would have to stop by a ticketing window at the main entrance of any of the four parks, at the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs or
call the Reservation Center. Unfortunately, the bad news is that the
sale of most Disney Annual Passes is currently paused. Since you are a Florida resident, you would be able to upgrade your tickets for a Disney Pixie-Dust Pass, but it is subject to blockout dates. But don't worry, Victoria! If there is one thing I learned about Disney from all of my trips to the parks, it is that the parks are constantly changing, and you truly never know when something might come back! To stay informed on Disney parks news, I suggest following
Disney Parks Blog on social media and keeping an eye on the Walt Disney World Resort website. That way, when Annual Passes do come back, you will know right away.
Fortunately, you do not have to worry about being able to experience the
World's Most Magical Celebration! Indeed, 50th-anniversary festivities continue through the Spring of 2023, so you have plenty of time to get your Annual Pass and enjoy everything this celebration has to offer. Some of my favourite offerings include the new nighttime spectaculars that have been lighting up the skies since October 1st, 2021. Indeed,
Disney Enchantment and
Harmonious have only been at the parks for a few months, but they have already become some of my favourites! Playing at Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT respectively, they are a must-do in my book. If you're a foodie like me, I also suggest trying some of the many
50th-anniversary treats you can find around the resort. I loved the EARidescent churros from Peco's Bill, but I have a feeling that the Tropical Serenade from Aloha Isle Refreshments might become my favourite!
I hope this was helpful, Victoria, and that you and your Ohana will have the best day ever on your next visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out! We are always happy to help, especially from one fellow Annual Passholder to another!
Have a magical day,
Ariane
