Hi there, Jackellyn, and thanks for bringing your question to
planDisney!
First off, congratulations on being a
Magic Key holder! There has been so much excitement in the air as Magic Key renewals were finally announced!
I can understand why you’d like to upgrade your Magic Key pass ahead of your renewal window, but unfortunately, upgrades can only be done when your Magic Key is eligible for renewal. According to the
Disneyland Resort website, Magic Key passes are currently eligible for renewal up to 30 days before their expiration date. During the renewal process, you’ll have the chance to upgrade to a different pass type, subject to pass availability, which may change from time to time. Jackellyn, you’re definitely not alone in this situation. In fact, my husband and children won’t be up for renewal until January, so they’re in the exact same boat as you it seems! So, I’m also hopeful that there will be some pass availability at that time. I recommend staying tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog and the
@DisneylandMagicKey Instagram account for all the latest Magic Key news and updates.
In the meantime, I have some exciting Magic Key news to share with you! All Magic Key holders can now receive 20% off the purchase of
Disney Genie+ service (subject to limited availability) on days when you use your Key for park admission! I can’t wait to use Genie+ on my next visit to the parks! In addition, if you’ll be visiting the parks between now and September 2, 2022, I recommend stopping by Stage 17 in Disney California Adventure Park between 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM for a royal photo opportunity with a beloved Character. This special photo spot includes a complimentary Disney PhotoPass digital photo download and magical extras, too!
I hope you’re able to upgrade to the Magic Key you want when you’re in your renewal window, Jackellyn! Please stop by with any additional questions… we’re all EARs!
Wishing you magic,
Kristin
