Hey Will! Thanks so much for dropping by planDisney with your Magic Key questions. It sounds like you are enjoying your Magic Key passes and want to upgrade for even more fun.
I did some digging and according to the
Disneyland Resort Magic Key Terms and Conditions, you can upgrade your
Magic Key Pass to a higher tier. It also states that "the difference in prices must be paid in full at the time of upgrade". If you currently make monthly payments on your passes, you will continue to pay them at the same rate since you are paying for the upgrade in full. Your Magic Key Pass expiration date will remain the same. It does not restart the Pass.
Once your child turns 3 years old and you want them to have a Magic Key Pass, their pass expiration date will be one year from the date you activate it at the parks for the first time. There isn't a way to have the expiration date line up with yours unless you wait until you renew yours. This is because all Magic Keys Passes are good for 12 months.
I hope you've had a chance to stop by
Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival as Magic Key holders. You can enjoy a discount on a Sip & Savor Pass with a specialty lanyard, as well as a fun Magic Key holder dining area.
Will, I hope this information has helped clear up your questions and you have your next days in the park reserved. There's always more magic to experience no matter how many times you've visited. See you real soon!
Carrie
