    I would like to upgrade my magic band to one of the character ones. Can I do this now before I receive my band, or does it have to be done inside the park.

    Hi Lauren, Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Warning, you're about to be given so many options that I think the only solution is to buy multiple MagicBands, one for every day of your trip.

    You can purchase a specially themed MagicBand 2 now, either on shopdisney.com or through the Shop Disney Parks App, which sometimes has a different selection of items than what the main website offers. Once you receive your band(s), you can link them yourself through you My Disney Experience profile, both on an actual computer or the app. (Under 'My Account', click 'MagicBands and Tickets', and find the button that says 'Link.' Select the MagicBand button where you'll be instructed to enter the 12-digit code on the back of your new band, and then you'll be good to go!)

    You can also wait to pick out a design once you arrive to Walt Disney World Resort, as there are so many more options available. Bands themed to your favorite character, attraction, snack food, year of your visit - you can even find stations to customize the complimentary bands you receive as a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel guest. If you wait to purchase a band once you're in the middle of all the fun, you can link your band minutes after purchasing through your My Disney Experience App and have that band be ready for use before you even leave the shop where it was purchased.
