Welcome to planDisney, Jenny!
What a great question! Personally, I love adding the Park Hopper option to my Walt Disney World Resort admission, but with small children, I'm not always sure that we're going to use it during our visits. If everyone is too tired or crabby to Park Hop, I would much rather save that money to put towards another special activity during our trip, like assembling an
Astromech Unit at Droid Depot or treating ourselves to a
poolside Cabana for a relaxing day at our Resort.
But what happens if we suddenly decide to Park Hop during our stay? Are we just out of luck because we didn't make our purchase ahead of time? Nope! Walt Disney World Resort Guests are welcome to add the
Park Hopper option to their ticket at any point during their stay –– all it takes is a quick visit to any
Guest Relations location or theme park ticketing window to pay the difference in cost between the tickets. There is one detail about adding the Park Hopper option that you should keep in mind, though. When you add the Park Hopper to an existing ticket, the price you pay will be based on the
original number of ticket days, not how many days you have left. That means if you purchased 5-day tickets and you decide to add the Park Hopper option on day 4, you'll still need to pay the price difference for a 5-day Park Hopper ticket.
If you decide to add the Park Hopper option, I recommend upgrading your ticket at a Guest Relations location inside a Walt Disney World theme park. While it isn't always the case, I find that these lines tend to be a little shorter than the ticket windows, especially right around 2 PM when Park Hopping starts. The Guest Relations location near EPCOT's Internation Gateway entrance is my personal favorite –– I always seem to have good luck finding shorter lines mid-morning or in the afternoon around 4 PM.
Thanks for visiting planDisney, Jenny. Whether you choose to Park Hop or stay put at one park each day, I hope your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit is filled with pixie dust from start to finish!
See Ya Real Soon,
Amy
