Can I upgrade my 3day SoCal pass for a magic key pass? I have not used the 3day SoCal pass yet.

Hello there, Kathy! Welcome to planDisney! You have a three-day Southern California Resident Ticket and are wishing upon a star to visit the Disneyland Resort even more often? You've got the Disney spirit, and we’re here for it!

I’m thrilled to share some great news: Yes, you can upgrade your SoCal Resident Ticket to a Magic Key pass, unlocking a whole year of magical possibilities! Of course, this is subject to the availability of those coveted Magic Keys. But guess what? As of today, when I checked with the sleuthing skills of Chip ‘n’ Dale, I found that all four pass types are still available for purchase.

Now, here's a little tip from one Mouseketeer to another: Wholly unused tickets, like the one you're holding, can't be upgraded through the magic of the Disneyland mobile app. You’ll need to make your way to a ticket booth at the Disneyland Resort, where a friendly Cast Member will be happy to assist you with the transformation.

But what if your ticket is practically singing "Let's Go to Disneyland", and you can't wait to use it? No worries! You’ll have until the clock strikes midnight on the last valid day of your ticket to make the upgrade, pending the availability of Magic Key passes at that time. Since your SoCal resident ticket is a 3-day, 1-park per day ticket, that means you have until the final chime of the midnight bells on the third day you've used your ticket to enter a park.

Once you've used your ticket for the first time, you may be able to upgrade it to a Magic Key pass directly in the Disneyland app. Just tap the menu button (three-lined icon at the bottom right of the screen), followed by "My Tickets & Passes". If your ticket is linked, it should magically appear in this section of the app, and there may be an option to upgrade directly from there.

Have you started dreaming about which of the four Magic Key pass types will be your perfect fit? Each one is like a different enchanted carriage, ready to whisk you away to a year of fun! The calendar of blockout dates is a great place to start comparing them. The Believe Key unlocks a treasure trove of weekends, the Enchant Key is perfect for weekday adventurers who love to say "Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho, It's Off To The Parks We Go!", the Imagine Key is an excellent value for our fellow California residents, and the Inspire Key is the ultimate choice if you’re seeking the most flexibility and maximum discounts.

Speaking of discounts, did you know that all four pass types come with magical savings on dining and merchandise at dozens of locations throughout the Disneyland Resort? And here’s a little secret between you and me, Kathy: I recently discovered that Magic Key discounts can sometimes be combined with other merchandise discounts at the shops around the resort. Talk about a dream come true!

I hope this helps you on your journey to becoming a Magic Key holder, Kathy! If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask. Remember, the magic is always waiting for you at the Disneyland Resort!
