Can I upgrade my child's dining plan to an adult plan

    Hello, Pattie!

You came to the right spot to ask about the Disney Dining Plans. I know a lot of my fellow friends here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel enjoy the many delicious meals, treats, and snacks Disney has to offer. You can usually find me with a Mickey shaped treat in hand!

When my family visits Walt Disney World Resort we always add a Dining Plan to our vacation package. There are three types of dining plans; Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, Disney Dining Plan, and Disney Deluxe Dining Plan. We usually go with Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and let me tell you, there is plenty of food to go around! Unfortunately, you can’t upgrade your child’s dining plan to an adult plan, but I do have a couple tips that may help you and your family.

I recommend selecting different meals when your family is ready to eat. My son selects what he wants off the kids’ menu, my husband will order something him and I are interested in, and I order something familiar that I know that everyone might enjoy. We do this to give our table or variety of foods to try and taste from! Now if that’s not enough, everyone on any dining plan is entitled to 2 snacks per each night of the package stay! Between the meals and snacks, there are so many options to choose from. Don’t forget the awesome Resort Refillable Drink mug each person (ages 3+), per package gets! Those refill mugs are refillable at ANY Walt Disney World Resort! (Tip: I bring my mug to the parks with me even though you can’t refill them there, they are insulated, so I pour our drinks that we purchase in the parks right into the refill mugs so that they stay cooler longer!)

As you continue to plan be sure to check out the many different Dining locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. After you find a restaurant you’re interested in select it to view the menu and see what Dining Plans are accepted there!

    Have a magical day!
