Ahoy there, Vanson, and welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so glad to have you alongside with your question about testing requirements for embarkation. While it has sometimes been difficult to keep up with all the changes, Disney Cruise Line has always communicated these requirements as clearly as possible, making for smooth sailing - even if it sometimes takes us through rough waters!
As a matter of fact, the
Your Guide to Updated Experiences page was just updated a few days ago on August 15, 2022, with information about your exact question!
Fully vaccinated Guests on sailings departing US and Canadian ports must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken one to 2 days before setting sail to be exempt from embarkation testing at the terminal. Completing pre-trip testing prior to embarkation day enhances the efficiency of boarding and confirms that you are negative for COVID-19 prior to traveling to the terminal. Pre-trip test results must be uploaded to the Inspire Diagnostics Safe Passage website by midnight prior to embarkation day.
Since the littlest sailors are now eligible for vaccination - and are now outlined specifically on the Know Before You Go information - those who are can now test one to two days before like the rest of your crew! I highly suggest either ordering the tests through Safe Passage or a local pharmacy, or you could also consider finding a local urgent care location that should have same-day test results capabilities, as well!
As a dad of a little castaway myself, that previous pre-embarkation testing was a bit of an extra hurdle, but one we were happy to do while we waited for this update. Now, our entire crew will be able to test the same way before our next sailing! Soon we'll be headed back to the
Disney Wish,
the Bahamas, and
Disney Castaway Cay with one less patch of stormy seas!
Hopefully, that will be the experience for you and your crew as well, Vanson, no matter which of the
ships of the Disney Cruise Line fleet on which you're planning to sail! Thank you so much for your question, and if you have any others as you continue planning, please pull alongside us again here at planDisney!
Happy planning!
