Hello there Cain Eric, and welcome to planDisney!
In the words of the
fine folks at the Dino Institute such as Dr. Helen Marsh, "The future is truly in the past"; but the most recent
announcements at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event foretell of some major changes coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park over the next few years!
DinoLand U.S.A. is set to make way for
Pueblo Esperanza, themed to the Tropical Americas in a way that echoes the journeys through Africa and Asia that guests make throughout the rest of the theme park, with construction due to commence soon in the fall and an
opening date projected for sometime in 2027. Based on the attraction opening times posted online for
TriceraTop Spin, it is currently scheduled to remain open and operational into December 2024, so there's a fairly good chance that you'll still be able to ride with your kids this month!
Nevertheless it's still important to be aware that any of these dates are subject to change without prior notice, and there's never any guarantee that we won't be surprised by any sudden movement with construction projects or closures. For example, we visited
Restaurantosaurus earlier this month for a chance to glimpse "Songs You'll Dig" with a Dino institute Intern in the Restaurantosaurus Lounge and got the opportunity to learn more about Marley, the American crocodile who lived in the habitat nearby. (Just last week, I had asked the Cast Members in the area whether they thought Marley would remain with the upcoming work being completed by Walt Disney Imagineering and they said that they hadn't been informed of anything, however at the time of writing Marley has since been removed along with any accompanying signage.)
Keep an eye on the TriceraTop Spin page on the Walt Disney World Resort website in the event that they do update its operational dates in the future, but here's hoping that you and your kids will be able to enjoy it for one last time this year before those high-flying herbivores finally go extinct.
Come back to planDisney again for more tips and tricks on how to spend your Halloween here, especially since I found it to be one of the very best days to head to the theme parks outside of attending any Halloween parties!
Wishing you all the best on your quest for prehistoric pursuits before they go the way of the dodo!
