Ahoy there, Kevin, and welcome aboard planDisney!
I'm so excited for you and your crew to embark on your expedition to "America's Last Frontier!" Our travels haven't taken us to Alaska just yet (having our first little sailor meant swapping an
Alaskan cruise for one on the
Disney Wish!) but it's definitely on our bucket list. Plus, you'll be on my favorite ship - the
Disney Wonder!
While things are constantly changing, for all the most current information about any offerings or policies affected by enhanced health and safety protocols, I always suggest keeping an eye on the
Know Before You Go information on the Disney Cruise Line website. There, you should have all the latest updates as soon as they are official - from any
changes to the fun and entertainment available while aboard, to policies that dictate requirements to sail!
Now, since Alaskan itineraries leave from the Port of Vancouver, I'd make the extra effort to stay informed as to the current policies for foreign nationals entering Canada by visiting the Government of Canada's website. I took a look at the information there, and they have a helpful online tool that helps guide you through the process of determining whether you can enter Canada. Much of it is dependent upon your crew's current vaccination status, which should coincide with Disney Cruise Line's current requirements to sail!
Once you use the online tool, they outline the additional steps you must take for your crew to gain entry to Canada in a helpful checklist much like the Safe Passage checklist required for Disney Cruise Line. Oh, and if you're traveling with children under 5-years-old, pay particular attention to those links!
Now May is a few months off on the horizon, so things could always change, so I'd make it a point to bookmark both sites to refer back to often as the seasons change from Winter to Spring! That way you won't have any surprises about requirements!
In the meantime, I hope you've been keeping an eye on when your booking window opens - I'd venture the guess that you're a
Castaway Club Member already? Remember,
Port Adventures are currently operating at reduced capacity, so having your shortlist of favorites to pounce on like Tigger when the clock strikes midnight is always a great idea! I know we were planning on booking one of the White Pass Railway Port Adventures as well as any of the opportunities to kayak! The Alaskan itineraries take you into some of the world's most breathtaking vistas, so it's time to take advantage of that!
Whatever you decide to do, I hope you and your crew have a WONDERful time on your sailing! Thank you for your question, and if any additional questions bubble up as you continue planning, please drop me a line here at planDisney!
Adventure is out there!
