Ahoy there, Kevin! Great to see you again here at planDisney!
Checking the ships logs as you prepare for Alaska again, eh? I like the cut of your jib, sailor! Fancy a career change? We might need a new Quartermaster around here, and sounds like you're on top of things more than the last guy was.
Oh, don't worry, he's just on vacation...where were we?
Ah yes, your Alaskan itinerary! I checked the most recent
Know Before You Go information, and while there have been important recent updates, no Alaskan itinerary-specific updates have been made on the Disney Cruise Line side of things as of this writing.
The Canadian Government, however, has made adjustments about travelers coming into the country and adjusted their entry policies as of the end of February to ease the on-arrival testing requirements for fully-vaccinated travelers. According to their website, "travelers arriving to Canada from any country, who qualify as fully vaccinated, will be randomly selected for arrival testing. Travelers selected will also no longer be required to quarantine while awaiting their test result." They also have updated pre-arrival testing requirements:
"Travelers will now have the option of using a COVID-19 rapid antigen test result (taken the day prior to their scheduled flight or arrival at the land border or marine port of entry) or a molecular test result (taken no more than 72 hours before their scheduled flight or arrival at the land border or marine port of entry) to meet pre-entry requirements. Taking a rapid antigen test at home is not sufficient to meet the pre-entry requirement – it must be authorized by the country in which it was purchased and must be administered by a laboratory, healthcare entity or telehealth service."
While there are many more specifics on the Canadian Government's site that I suggest you review in-detail, those seem to be the most pertinent! Also remember, as part of your
Online Check-In process, you'll upload your required information to the Safe Passage Website for embarkation - but this information is for Disney Cruise Line, and Canada's regulations for arrival are separate!
I hope that helps bring the horizon into focus just a bit more, Kevin! Soon you'll be seeing glaciers, fjords, and some of the wildest lands around from the deck of the
Disney Wonder! And don't forget, you and your crew will be able to see Captain Mickey, Captain Minnie, and all their friends in their "Alaskan exploration" outfits - only available on your itineraries! Thanks as always for sailing my way here at planDisney, and I'll keep a weather eye out for any more messages you send our way!
Adventure is out there!
