Randi from MI Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

On our upcoming vacation we have the dining plan ordered. I understand it comes with a refillable mug. I'm wondering if we can fill it before we leave our resort and take it into the parks, or do the mugs have to be empty at security checks? Thank you!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Randi! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your vacation planning to the Walt Disney World Resort! We are so glad you have come to visit us!

We always refill our mugs before leaving for the Parks either with a super cold drink or with some hot chocolate to keep us warm at the parks at least for a little while. I do not remember ever being questioned by security why we are carrying them or anything. Security agents inspect bags but they do not mind if you are carrying drinks, especially if it's a Disney World Resort mug. They do expect guests to bring drinks to stay hydrated throughout their day so I do not think you will ever get asked why you are bringing your mugs in. Remember that one way to stay hydrated is to get complimentary cups of water at quick-service locations.

Randi, be sure to stop at the refill station on your way to your room after a busy day at the parks.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if we can do anything else to help as you make your plans.

    See ya real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Desiree, Peru

Hi! I'm Desiree from Lima, Peru. My family will never ever tire of visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth, even if means traveling almost 3,000 miles to do so! My husband and I love to watch the fireworks with our kids, but the best magic happens when the grandparents come along and we all feel the same age in front of Cinderella Castle! I love giving tips about different types of resorts and traveling with multigenerational groups.
