Hi! We have an upcoming trip when we plan to park-hop by monorail from Magic Kingdom to Epcot one day, and Epcot to MK the next. If the parks close at different times, could we have a problem getting back to our car (if the first park closes earlier)?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Alesia!

Funny story… On a day I was meeting up with some friends at Magic Kingdom, I parked at the Transportation and Ticket center, made my way to the park, had a magical time with my friends, then followed them to Disney’s Contemporary Resort where they were staying. We spent some time catching up and before I knew it, I was stuck there because the monorail had stopped running for the night. I eventually found a way back to my car, but it was a lesson learned to make sure in the future I pay attention to the monorail schedules!   So, chEARs to you for super smart planning before you arrive!

Alesia, the monorail will usually run up to an hour after park closing. So, if you are planning on park hopping and parking at a different park than where you started, be sure to check those times and ask a Cast Member if you are unsure of alternative options if you do miss that window when the monorail stops running. Busses will run later so it is unlikely you will be stranded. But it’s good measure to have a solid plan that won’t put a damper on a magical night!

I hope this helps answer your questions and that you can learn from my rookie mistake! Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you back again real soon.
