Upcoming trip 1st of the month. With character meet and greets not happening there is only rides and I would assume castle pictures. Is buying memory maker/photo pass for 170 worth it? Are there a lot of photographers out in the parks?

    Hi Ryan,

How exciting for your upcoming trip to be just around the corner!  I always find my peak pre-vacation excitement occurs just a few days before my actual vacation and I bet yours is ramping up now!

Let's see if we can help you with your decision on whether to pre-purchase Memory Maker for your upcoming trip.  I should mention that you are always welcome to use Disney PhotoPass Service regardless if you have purchased Memory Maker or not!  Just know that all photos must be taken with Guests wearing their masks or they may not appear in your account (even attraction photos and videos).

Memory Maker can be a great value if you enjoy stopping by and snapping photos at the Disney PhotoPass locations.  Most of these locations are strategically placed in areas where the backdrop is of a Disney icon and there are many locations in all of the theme parks.  Not only is having your backdrop extra Magical, Disney PhotoPass photographers have the ability to take Magic Shots at select locations, like this new one inside Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios!  Magic Shots have alone made all the difference for me when deciding if Memory Maker was worth it for my vacation.

In addition to PhotoPass locations inside the theme parks, you may also pop by Disney PhotoPass Studio in Disney Springs and use their fun props and have your choice of virtual backdrops!  Downloads from the PhotoPass Studio are included in the purchase of your Memory Maker too.  Furthermore, if you are a lover of rides and attractions, then having the unique ability to capture photos and videos in such a candid way while riding an attraction is another value of having Memory Maker.

Whether you decide to pre-purchase Memory Maker or wait and see, I'm sure your vacation will be extra Magical!
