Hello I have an upcoming trip to disneyland I am wondering if I need to go in earlier to be screened or can I just show up at 9 am and not expected High wait times to be screened in order to enter to park ? And can I bring my pet dog ? He is half blind

Hi Cynthia, and welcome to planDisney.

I know how long our California friends have waited to utter the words “I’m going to Disneyland!” and I’m just so excited for you. Your upcoming visit is going to be practically perfect in every way!

Because of added health and safety protocols such as temperature screening and physical distancing in queues, it is recommended that you arrive early at the Disneyland Resort. Early arrival is a good idea if you want to be able to get started with your Disney day as soon as possible; I like to arrive 45 minutes before the opening time listed in the Park Hours. If you will be driving your own vehicle and parking, the current guidance is that the parking structures will open 30 minutes before the earliest theme park opening, but this is subject to change and the day’s operational decisions. Lines may seem long because of distancing measures, but they should move fairly quickly. You can learn about the latest operational guidance in the Returning to a World of Magic information; this will help you know what to expect on your visit.

As for your sweet doggie, as much as Mickey would love to allow all of Pluto’s pals to visit the Disneyland Resort, pets are not permitted per the Park Rules. If your dog is a service animal, he is welcome to visit with you; please see the guidance about service animal behavior and courtesy on the Service Animals webpage. That page also provides helpful information about relief areas and attractions where your pup is not permitted.

Cynthia, I hope your visit to the Disneyland Resort is absolutely wonderful. As you approach your visit date, be sure to read the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest Disneyland Resort news – as an east coaster, I love to drool over the foodie features and dream about the day when I will visit Disneyland and stuff my face with churros, corn dogs, and DOLE Whips with umbrellas in them. Enjoy every minute of your visit!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
     Robyn
